Our clinic, where you leave your sample, is centrally located on Kungsholmen in Stockholm.
Application
First, you need to express your interest by filling out the form. If you have questions, use the forms here or contact us at 076-941 74 00 on weekdays between 09:00 and 17:00 or email liviospermbank@livio.se. Our donation coordinator will call you to review the process and your health declaration.
Sperm analysis & donor introduction
After approval of your health declaration, your first visit for sperm sampling is scheduled. Provide your name at reception and bring valid ID. We'll ask about your last ejaculation (which should be between 48 and 72 hours before your visit).
You'll receive a container for your sample, and we'll show you to a private room. We'll contact you within a week if your sperm quality meets our donor requirements.
Doctor's visit, blood and urine tests
After approving your sperm sample, we'll contact you with information about blood and urine tests and provide a health declaration to complete and return. You can take these tests at your nearest health center or at our clinic during regular hours. We'll contact you within two weeks with your results. If all tests are approved, you'll be called for a visit and consultation with one of our doctors at Livio Kungsholmen.
Consultation with a behavioral scientist
All medically approved donors must also consult with a behavioral scientist for final approval. This can be in person or digitally. It's important that you have an altruistic attitude towards donating and understand what it means for yourself, your future, and your private relationships.
Donation begins
After completing these steps, you're approved as a donor and your sperm can be distributed to patients. We compensate donors with 610 SEK per approved donation. We desire each sperm donor to donate multiple times.

                Sperm Donation Frequently Asked Questions
A doctor will be the first person that you will see.
Of course.
The first step is for you to come in for an advanced ultrasound scan and a virtual consultation. The first appointment is the scan; this is an internal scan with an advanced 3D Doppler scanner and will help us assess the blood flow in the ovaries, follicles and womb as well as checking ovarian reserve. We perform a 3D scan to assess the cavity of the womb to rule out any problems for implantation. They will also check for obstructions such as cysts and polyps. Following on from the scan you will have your virtual consultation where the doctor will go through the results and your medical history and devise a personalised treatment plan for you based on these.
Do I have to come for the scan on a particular day of my cycle?
No, you can come for the scan on any day of the cycle, including during your period if you are comfortable with this - it doesn’t make any difference from the scanning point of view.
Do I have to have the scan done again if I’ve had one elsewhere?
We request that every patient have a scan within 3 months before starting any treatment. It is at the doctor’s discretion whether they will accept a scan from another clinic; however most doctors prefer to have a scan performed at CREATE because our doctors have been highly trained in scanning methods and will be able to assess multiple aspects of your fertility. Our scanners are 3D Doppler scanners and look at the blood flow in the ovaries and womb as well as checking ovarian reserve.
Should I bring anything with me?
If you have medical notes, from previous treatment for example, you can send copies of these to us in advance to be added to your file. Otherwise you do not need to bring anything with you.
