In Sweden there is a great shortage of egg and sperm donors and in order to increase the availability of assisted fertilization, a private egg and sperm bank is now being established that will be able to supply both private and public clinics with eggs and sperm.

By establishing Livio Egg and Sperm Bank, we want to change the view on donation in Sweden. More donors are needed to help involuntarily childless couples and women to be able to have what they want most, a child.

About Livio Egg & Sperm Bank

Livio Egg and Sperm Bank is a private egg and sperm bank and part of the Livio Group. We recruit and assess egg and sperm donors and have several years of experience in donor programmes.

Livio Egg and Sperm Bank was established in Sweden in 2019 with the aim of recruiting more donors and helping to reduce waiting times for treatment with donated eggs and sperm. The following year, in 2020, the operation was also established in Iceland. Since then, we have built extensive experience in egg and sperm donation.

Today, our egg donation programme is available at five of Livio’s clinics in Sweden: Stockholm, Gothenburg, Falun, Umeå and Malmö. Our sperm donation programme is based at Livio Stockholm in Gärdet.

For us, safety, security and quality are key aspects of our donor programmes. Our donors undergo thorough medical and psychosocial assessments to ensure that they meet the requirements for becoming a donor. Our clinics and laboratories are ISO 9001 certified and approved by the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare (Socialstyrelsen) as tissue establishments.
