The likelihood of having a child through IVF is influenced by several factors. The woman’s age is one of the most important factors, but other factors, such as the number of previous IVF treatments, may also play a role.

The results below are based on IVF treatments initiated between January 2021 and June 2023 and include the first through third treatments.

What affects IVF outcomes?
Several factors affect the chances of success with IVF. A woman’s age is the most important factor, as egg quality decreases with age.
Other factors, such as ovarian reserve, how long you have been trying to conceive, and previous IVF outcomes, may also affect the chances of success.
Each person’s circumstances are unique, so it is not possible to predict exactly how an individual treatment will turn out.
